ABS-CBN News YouTube channels have been inaccessible since Tuesday morning and appear to have been terminated and is reportedly investigating the “termination” of its news platform on Youtube. The Youtube account of ABS-CBN News shows that the “account has been terminated for a violation of YouTube’s Terms of Service.” It is, however, unclear what these supposed violations are.ABS-CBN has confirmed the issue in accessing the Youtube account, just as several netizens ask about what happened to the online platform.

In a statement, ABS-CBN Corp. said it had been working to retrieve its news channels on YouTube as uploads were inaccessible to the public. “We are aware of the problem of accessing ABS-CBN News channels on YouTube. We are currently investigating this and working closely with YouTube to resolve the problem,” the statement read. “In the meantime, you can catch our livestreams and news reports on the TeleRadyo Channel. Thank you for your patience and understanding,” the media giant added.Some netizens questioned the shutdown and sought an explanation from YouTube.

Disputes between the government of President Rodrigo Duterte because of some questionable news and reports that misleads and creates feud between the public and the government and ABS-CBN arose on the terms and conditions of the franchise renewal agreement. Amid the controversy, the Congress of the Philippines, the legislature of the country, was unable to renew the franchise before its expiration date. The congressional franchise expired on May 4, 2020, as the Philippines was dealing with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the NTC on May 5 issued an order for the company to cease and desist from operating its radio and television stations and explain in writing why the frequencies assigned to it should not be recalled for lack of franchise.
