Harry Roque: Philippines To Get 20 Million Doses Of Moderna Vaccine

Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque confirmed this Tuesday that Philippines will procure 20 million doses of Moderna vaccine to eliminate COVID-19 pandemic.

According to reports the authorities already forwarded a proposal to Moderna to acquire vaccines and to be delivered this middle of the current year this is stated by Ambassador Jose Romualdez and added they had finalize the proper documentations needed.

The government also considers proposal from Astra Zeneca, Novavax and Sinovac.

Some LGU already procured doses from Astra Zeneca and will start vaccination upon delivery priority will be health workers and uniformed personnel’s.

Pfizer is already being used by first world countries namely USA and United Kingdom way back many months ago.

Food And Drugs Administration already gives go signal to Pfizer vaccines and must be stored at 70’c Celsius the problem here is the difficulty of storage and much more expensive compared to Moderna which can be usable in normal temperature for 30 days.

Moderna will still do its more efforts to secure EUA from FDA which means it is not available for the meantime.

However many issues of kick vac (profiteering from vaccine) still surging wherein government is allegedly overpricing the vaccines for their own benefit but it is yet to be proven.
