REASON WHY: Errol Spence Jr. Backs Out On His Scheduled Fight Against Manny Pacquiao

Errol Spence Jr is expected to fight Manny Pacquiao this August 22, 2021 (Philippine time) in Las Vegas and many boxing fanatics are excited to watch this blow-by-blow fight.

But sad to say Spence pull out from his fight due to an eye injury retinal tear in his left eye.

Spence quoted he is excited to fight the legendary boxing champ but due to an unexpected event he will undergo eye surgery ASAP, he added he cannot fight in his current condition and expressed his apology to all the fans around the world.

“I was excited about the fight and the event. Unfortunately, the doctors found a tear in my left eye and said I needed to get surgery on it ASAP and that there was no way I could fight with my eye in that condition,” Spence said in a statement. 

“I’d like to apologize to everyone. You know I’ll be back as soon back soon. We’ve come back from worse.”

Instead, Manny will fight the current welterweight champion Yordenis Ugas.

Ugas expressed his excitement and was honored to fight the boxing legend, he promised he will do his best to prove he is worthy of this opportunity to fight Pacquiao.

Ugas has a professional record of 26-4 with 12 knockouts

“I have a tremendous amount of respect for Pacquiao, but I am coming to win this fight. I’ve been in camp working hard with my coach Ismael Salas and I know together we will come up with a masterful game plan to combat anything Manny will bring to the ring, he added

Meanwhile, Manny extends his prayers for Spence’s quick recovery and successful operation.
