Before the clash of fist between 8 Division World Champion Manny Pacquiao and   Brandon Rios on November 24, 2013 in Macau. Pacquiao took the initiative to ask Jessica Sanchez if she is willing to sing the Philippine National Anthem during their fight.

In Pacquiao’s Twitter account he invited the singer and quoted “Would you do me the honor singing the national anthem before the fight”? And she positively replied in her twitter account ” I am honored”.

The half American and Mexican singer was the American Idol season 11 Runner up next to Phillip Phillips. As recalled in the previous fight between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley last June 9, 2012, where she  performed the Star Spangled Banner.

After the said fight, in a short interview between her and Sheila Reyes she expresses her excitement to sing the Lupang Hinirang even though she does not speak Tagalog fluently.

Sanchez also performed in the finals game between Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder. She also perform a song collaboration together with Allan Pineda current known as Apl D’ Ap of Black Eye Peas for Smart Telecommunications entitled “ Jump In” here in the Philippines.

Many boxing enthusiast will be looking forward for her performance especially the Filipino people here and abroad.
