A 9 year old girl in Masuchette heard back a response from President Barack Obama concerning on her request to get more women on U.S currency and questioning why there aren’t any.
Last summer the letter was sent to President Obama by a girl named Sofia. She wants to know why there aren’t many women on the dollars and coins on the United States.
“I think there should be more woman on a dollar/coin for the United States because if there were no woman there wouldn’t be men,” According to Time Magazine.
She added that there are many women that deserves to be there and have a feat because of the “main and important things” they have done. She even write some of the women that she wanted to be on the list like Rosa Parks, Betsy Ross, Abigail Adams and First Lady Michelle Obama.

Sofia ‘so thought’ that she has been forgotten since she hasn’t heard anything when months passed by and there is no response. Until in February she finally received a letter from the White House.
“This is a belated note to thank you for writing to me with such a good idea last summer. The women you listed and drew make up an impressive group, and I must say you’re pretty impressive too,” Obama wrote, stated by the acquired letter copied by the Time.
“I’ll keep working to make sure you grow up in a country where women have the same opportunities as men, and I hope you’ll stay involved in issues that matter to you,” Obama added.
Lots of organizations heard about Sofia in the months he sent the letter. A nonprofit organization namely “Women on 20’s”even commenced and will held a goal of taking the face of a woman on the $20 bill by the year 2020. The group made a sample images of $20 bill presenting Sojourner Truth, Eleanor Roosevelt and others- containing some of Sofia’s suggestion on the list.
