Modified Enhance Community Quarantine (MECQ) in Bacolod city starting July 16 is is not yet final.

This is posted by an unknown entity in social media that fast circulating creating multiple confusions to the public.

According to the Bacolod City PIO Facebook page even though the office of the city mayor receives the recommendation of escalating the quarantine status of the city current Mayor Bing Leonardia will send an appeal letter to NIATF to consider their commitment to putting Bacolod from GCQ to MECQ.

Mayor Leonardia quoted “We will vigorously appeal against the escalation of our community quarantine status”.

It is not debatable that many Bacolodnons have already lost their jobs and businesses because of the prolonged community quarantine.

The incumbent mayor added this will greatly affect the economy of the city and he urged that together with the LGU and frontliners they had already reduced 42% of COVID-19 patients.

Bacolod City is still on GCQ status from July 1 to 31 2021, not final decisions had been made yet, please stay tuned for more updates.
