Lesbian couple just got married in Japan that has caused and has gained the attention and call for Japan to legalize same-s*x marriage.

Ayaka Ichinose, 34 years old and Akane Sugimori, 28 both clothed in white had tied the knot with an 80 relatives and friends with them.

“We held the wedding ceremony so that it might become easier for others to do the same in the future,” Sugimori told the press after the wedding.

She also said that they will try to register their wedding with proper authority in the municipal office but at the same time they were both expecting that their papers and application will be rejected.

Other municipalities has also considered this. “Two districts in Tokyo earlier this year announced that same-s*x couples could register for “partnership” certificates, allowing symbolic recognition of their relationship”, according to their rules.
