Weather Advisory: Low Pressure Area To Hit Zamboanga City- PAGASA

Weather advisory- PAG-ASA weather bureau releases an updated report around 10 am in the morning, January 18, 2020, Monday, as they forecasted the Low Pressure Area (LPA) to hit the area of Zamboanga City

Based on their available data, the LPA was estimated 90 km southeast of Zamboanga City which embedded along the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ)

Rest assured, the weather bureau announces that the forecasted LPA is less likely to develop into a Tropical Depression in the next 48 hours

But due to combined effect of LPA, ITCZ, and Tail-End of Frontal System the following areas will be experienced moderate to heavy rains today

  • Caraga
  • Davao Region
  • SOCCSKSARGEN
  • Eastern Visayas

Light to moderate with at times heavy rains will also be experienced in areas of

  • Quezon
  • Palawan
  • Bicol Region
  • Visayas
  • Mindanao

On the other hand, Surge of Northeast Monsoon will also bring scattered rains in areas of

  • Cagayan
  • Eastern Isabela

Meanwhile, PAGASA warned the public for possible flooding and rain induced landslides which may occur during heavy or prolonged periods of rainfall, especially in areas identified to be highly susceptible to these hazards or in some areas who received heavy rainfall for a past couple of days or weeks

The public and risk reduction and management offices are advised to take appropriate and precautionary measures during this inevitable weather condition
