Cedric Lee and Deniece Cornejo’s legal counsel filed a motion to determine the probable cause of serious illegal detention case filed against them on Friday.

callejaThe said charges are on the mauling incident done to Vhong Navarro last January 2014.

According to their lawyer they have not received the resolution yet.

“Bagamat wala pa po kaming kopya [ng resolusyon] — karamihan doon ay naririnig namin o nakuha namin sa mga ulat kahapon sa radyo at sa TV — inagapan namin para naman siyempre mabigyan ng legal remedies ang aming kliyente,” Calleja told reporters shortly after filing his motion at the Taguig Regional Trial Court.

“Ginagalang po namin ‘yung resolusyon ng DOJ bagamat it doesn’t mean we agree with the decision. Hindi naman ho kami kailangan sumang-ayon,” he said.

Atty. Calleja also filed a motion to suspend the proceedings which includes the issuance of warrant of arrest order to his clients.

The lawyer also noted that the said issuance of warrant of arrest tends to be unfair to the part of his clients considering Holy Week is fast approaching.

He strongly urged that the judge has 10 tens to review the said resolution issued by the Department of Justice.

He said hopefully, sana, bago mag-issue or bago umakto ‘yung korte ay pag-aralan at tingnan kung tunay ngang may probable cause ‘yung kasong ito,”

“Kasama po sa aming hinihiling na aming finile ngayon na sana ay walang i-issue o walang, kung meron naman, na ipatupad na warrant habang dinidinig itong aming mosyon,”

Meanwhile the said attorney does not know where his clients whereabouts.

But he quoted that Cornejo, Bernice Lee, Simeon Raz, Ferdinand Guerrero, Jose Paolo Calma, and Jed Fernandez — are “willing to face [the legal process] squarely all steps of the way.”

Those six persons are facing non bail able charges filed by Vhong.
