COMELEC order’s Incumbent Gov. ER Ejercito to Step Down From Office

COMELEC currently issue’s an order binding to incumbent Gov. ER Ejercito to vacate his position as head of Province of Laguna after reviewing the reports that the said governor violates the rules by overspending during the campaign period.

erIn the said session held the COMELEC all the commissioners came up into a unanimous decision the said order was released on Wednesday May 21, 2014.

According to COMELEC commissioner Sixto Brillantes the Comelec in Banc spread and affirmed its first division verdict about the disqualification of the incumbent in the ground of overspending in campaign last 2013 for the governor’s seat.

The only remedy to the decision is to elevate the said case to the Supreme Court and issue a TRO or Temporary Restraining Order.

The said decision will be effective after 5 days upon issuance of the COMELEC order if Gov. ER camp fails to issue a TRO.

Vice Governor Ramil Hernandez will assume the position as governor after Ejercito vacates his office.

During the Comelec investigation, the said commission found out the ER spend almost 6 million pesos where in they are only allowed to spend 4.5 million for TV ads campaign.
