The San Mig Coffee Mixers finished 3 straight wins against Air21 Express with the score of 99-83 and go in to Final series for the 2014 Commissioner’s Cup against Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters. The championship held at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum and started on Wednesday.
The Coffee Mixers holds the title of Champions on PBA, Governors Cup, All-Filipino Cup and targeting to get the Commissioners Cup Play-Off on their third straight conference title. TNT or Talk N Text is still undefeated record since the conference title started.
Players who had contributed points are: James Mays 24 points, 17 rebounds, 2 blocks and 2 steals, PJ Simon 18 points, James Yap 15 points, Mark Barroca scored 11 points with 4 rebounds, 5 assists and three steals, Alex Mallari added 10 points and 5 rebounds.
According to PBA Percentage, San Mig Coffee shot 35-of-74 (47.3 percent) from the floor and 23-of-30 (76.7 percent) from the line. Air21 went 31-of-78 (39.7 percent) from the floor and 11-of-18 (61.1 percent) from the line.
“Certainly our guys came to play. You could see it all the way through the lineup. It was a total team effort, and it was one of those nights when we were on. We were defending at a high, alert level. Everything clicked for us tonight,” “When that happens it may look like the game is easy, but you have to work really, really hard to get everything clicking.” said San Mig Coffee coach Tim Cone during interviewed on PBA sports and stated on GMA NEWS.
