Looking back on the late President Benigno “Noy Noy” Aquino III legacy as the 15th Pres. Of the Republic of the Philippines from 2010 – 2016.

Pres. Benigno III is famously called PNOY and succeeded former Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

Noy Noy is the son of Benigno Aquino and Cory Cojuangco also served as the 11th President of the country.

BIOGRAPHY:

  • Full Name: Benigno Simeon Aquino III graduated at Far Eastern University in Sampaloc 
  • Sisters: Maria Elena (Ballsy), Aurora Corazon (Pinky), Victoria Elisa (Viel), and Kristina Bernadette (Kris).

AS CONGRESSMAN:

  • Noynoy served as a congressman from 1998 to 2007 in the city of Tarlac.
  • Chairman of the Board of the Central Luzon Congressional Caucus
  • He is active on calling Gloria Arroyo to resign due to “Hello Garci Scandal”

AS SENATOR:

  • After his career as Senator from 2007- 2010
  • Contribution: Senate Bill 2035, which is the Preservation of Public Infrastructures bill
  • Amending the Government Procurement Act (SB 2160)
  • The Budget Impoundment and Control Act (SB 3121)

DURING PRESIDENCY:

  • At 2010 he decided to run for Presidency as part of the call of the Filipinos and elected after winning the elections.
  • He is known for his “No Wang Wang Policy” a bill prohibiting loud sirens on the streets.
  • He also changes the educational system called K-12 which is also used in various Western countries.

In his last State of the Nation Address (SONA) he is proud to report his administrations achievements namely

  • Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4 P’s) a financial aid for the extremely poor Filipino families
  • Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth)

There are ups and downs on his term but what is certain the President Noy Noy contributed for the benefit of the country; he passed away this June 24, 2021 around 9 am in the morning.

Cause of death is speculated on different body complications from diabetes and stage 4 lung cancer.
