DOH: Pregnant Woman Can Take COVID-19 Vaccine But Needs Doctors Clearance

Department of Health (DOH) gives go signal to pregnant women to be injected by COVID-19 vaccines but needs doctors clearance to avoid any complications during pregnancy especially on the first trimester of their pregnancy.

All COVID-19 vaccines are safe to all pregnant woman special mention the second and third trimester of being pregnant.

Sec. Duque stated pregnant woman can be classified as A3 together with individual with comorbidity like hypertension, diabetes and respiratory problems.

However in the Philippines all vaccines like AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Sinovac and Moderna are allowed to be injected to pregnant woman except Gamaleya’s Sputnik V.

The information is based on US studies that during pregnancy women are at risk so they can be a priority to receive COVID-19 jab.

This is a good news to every soon to be mommy out there, their stress can be relieved as they are given the opportunity to take the vaccine.
