Barbie has been around five decades and is in almost every girl’s childhood. The Barbie doll was made by the Mattel Inc.’s Ruth Handler and first came out on the year 1959.

According to Barbie’s inventor, “Barbie has always represented that a woman has choices. Even in her early years, Barbie did not have to settle for only being Ken’s girlfriend or an inveterate shopper. She had the clothes, for example, to launch a career as a nurse, a stewardess, a nightclub singer. I believe the choices Barbie represents helped the doll catch on initially, not just with daughters—who would one day make up the first major wave of women in management and professionals—but also with mothers.”

The first Barbie movie to be made was Barbie in the Nutcracker that was released on 2001. Up to this day, Barbie movies are still very popular among the girls, even the young adults as it reminds them of their childhood.

On 2023, first ever live-action Barbie movie is to be released starring Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken.

However, after a couple of photos on the Barbie set was uploaded to the internet, fans and netizens comment that Glen Powell would have been a better Ken than Ryan Gosling.

Some netizens say that Gosling was too old to be playing Ken, some said that he’s not fit to be Ken at all.

Despite the negative comments, Gosling is awesome at his job and has a talent for acting. Ryan Gosling starred in two famous movies released: The Notebook, and La La Land.
